2017 Entry Policies

2017 Age Requirements

 

6-Under Division

Open to boys and girls who are not yet 7 as of July 13, 2017

7-8 Division

Open to boys and girls who are not yet 9 as of July 13, 2017

9-10 Division

Open to boys and girls who are not yet 11 as of July 13, 2017

11-12 Division

Open to boys and girls who are not yet 13 as of July 13, 2017

13-14 Division

Open to boys and girls who are not yet 15 as of July 13, 2017

15-18 Division

Open to boys and girls who are not yet 19 as of July 14, 2017

 

15-18 Division

 

United States

Players living in the United States must qualify to enter the IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships. 15-18 Division players are NOT eligible to apply online until they have successfully earned a qualifying spot and have received a letter from the Tournament Committee with a registration code. Players do not need to preregister with the Junior World to participate in a qualifying tournament. Please contact the golf association hosting the qualifier you are interested in playing in directly.

International

International players should first check to see if your country conducts qualifying before applying online. For a list of international golf associations, please click here.

If your country is listed, please contact the designated representative for more information on how to qualify for the tournament. Players must reside in the country they are representing or have an official endorsement from the governing golf body.

If your country is not listed, please apply online and submit the tournament application during the registration period (February 6-March 15).

 

14-Under Divisions

 

United States

Players living in the United States should check the map below to see if you are eligible to go through the selection process by submitting a player history form or if you are required to qualify. If you are eligible to submit a player history form, please apply during the registration period
(February 9th-March 15th).

 

International

If your country is listed, please contact the designated representative for more information on how to qualify for the tournament. Players must reside in the country they are representing or have an official endorsement from the governing golf body.

Exemptions

The following players have earned exemptions from the 2016 tournament:

  • 13-14 Boys Division Top 6 and ties

  • 11-12 Boys Division Top 6 and ties
  • 11-12 Girls Division Top 6 and ties
  • 9-10 Boys Division Top 6 and ties
  • 9-10 Girls Division Top 6 and ties
  • 7-8 Boys Division Top 6 and ties
  • 7-8 Girls Division Top 6 and ties
  • 6-Under Boys Division Top 3 and ties
  • 6-Under Girls Division Top 2 and ties

     

Sponsor Exemptions

IMG Academy  will be awarding the following Sponsor Exemptions for the 2017 IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships:

Boys 15-18 Division:    TBA
Girls 15-18 Division:    TBA
Boys 13-14 Division:   TBA
Girls 13-14 Division:   TBA

 

Entry Acceptance

Players will receive a registration acknowledgement within 24 hours of registering for the tournament. Please note this simply confirms the registration has been received by the tournament office.

 

Selection Process

Players going through the selection process during the registration period of February 6-March 15 will receive one of the following notices by April 1, 2017.

  • ACCEPTANCE- Player has been selected to participate in the tournament and will receive additional information via email.
  •  
  • NON-ACCEPTANCE- Player was not chosen in the selection process and will have to qualify to enter the tournament.

  • WAITING LIST-Player has been selected as an alternate and will receive an acceptance notice if a position becomes available. Players on the waiting list are highly encouraged to seek qualifying opportunities in the event a position does not become available. Waiting list spots typically do not become available until the end of June.

 

Qualified Players/Exemptions

Players will receive a TOURNAMENT ACCEPTANCE notice if they earned an exemption from the 2016 tournament or qualified at one of the designated 2017 qualifying tournaments within two business days of registering. Waiting List

The waiting list will be selected by the Tournament Committee and will be limited to a specific number in each division. Those selected to the waiting list will be notified that they have waiting list status. Players on the waiting list will be notified by as soon as possible if a spot becomes available.
